Frequently Asked Questions

What is an “iPod” or MP3 tour?
It’s an audio walking tour – a lot like they have in museums. Except these tours are for the real world, with local narrators, music, and sound effects. You download the tour to your portable MP3 player, and then follow the map through the city. It’s a totally new way to travel –you get all the flavor of the city…without looking like a tourist.

How do I purchase the tour?
Simple. Go to the purchase page. During the purchase process, follow the instructions to download the MP3 file (an MP3 is just a type of audio file). You download it from the Internet to your computer.

Do I need an iPod to do the tour?
No, but you do need a portable MP3 player. An iPod is just a specific brand of MP3 player, made by Apple (just like the Accord is a specific brand of car made by Honda). There are lots of other MP3 players out there. If you have one, you can do these tours.

I don’t have an MP3 player, but I do have a discman. Can I do the tour?
Yes, but only if you have a CD burner on your computer. You’ll purchase the tour, download the audio files to your computer, and then simply burn the files onto a CD. Put the CD in your discman, and you’re good to go.
